As promised, I'm giving an update with the embarrassing numbers of how fat I am, to help keep me motivated. Last week's weigh in was 262 lbs, 36.7% body fat.
This morning, I weighed in at 259.8lbs, still 36.7% body fat. So I did lose weight, but I lost muscle as well.
Still, I'm back to where I was when I started tracking my weight 5 weeks ago, so it's a good start.

It is a good start. Keeping the muscle is hard. Go see a nutrionist. That helped me greatly. I was at 250 when I started my weight loss thing. Honestly the hardest part is not losing it, it's keeping it off.
Go man! Three pounds in a week is a good rate... honestly you probably don't want more than that. I'm curious about the body fat measuring device, what is it? I bet it has some margin of error, since those things basically measure electric current conductivity across your chest.
Do you have a target weight you're trying to reach?

@Erik: Don't I know it...before I started working for the Evil Empire I had myself down to 200.
@Memophage: Yeah, it's just my scale, it measures body fat too. There's definitely a margin for error, but it's the best thing I have to go by right now.
yay go you!!! I hate struggling with weight it sucks and is a lifelong battle. If I can do it so can you!!
